The Rabbit is finally here !

So it’s off to work this morning after the Easter Break.  I have however promised you the rabbit tapestry needlework fridge magnet and here it is !  Yes I realise it took a while to get here….!

Instructions

A piece of 10 mesh duo canvas measuring 15cm x 15 cm

Tapestry Needle – Size 22

Tapestry Threads as shown on chart below.  I use DMC but they have conversion charts for other wools.

Piece of cardboard same size as finished design

Scissors and Glue

Piece of cotton fabric of your choice and needle and thread.

Magnet

Once the rabbit design is stitched cut the corners of the canvas and insert piece of cardboard the same size as the tapestry on the back.  Glue the pieces of the canvas to the back of the cardboard.  Wait until the glue dries.  Cut a piece of cotton fabric and fold in the sides.  Make sure the sizes of the cotton fabric backing matches the back of the embroidery and then sew.  When finished glue the magnet to the back of the finished piece.  Then place  rabbit on your fridge !

So now follow the diagram and begin !

The Threads to use are as follows but if you want an different look then you can choose whatever colours you would like.rabbit-threadsjpgjpg1

So when you have finished stitching the rabbit you cut the corners and insert on the back of the tapestry the cardboard as shown below.

Glue the sides of the canvas to the back of the cardboard and wait until dry.

After the glue has tried place the chosen cotton fabric onto the back and start sewing the cotton fabric to the canvas including the cardboard as follows.

Once you have finished sewing the back and front together you end up with a rabbit magnet !
