The Cat and the Rain !

My friend’s cat.  Photo taken a little while ago.  What a beautiful cat !!!!  Those eyes .. nothing compares to the blue in those eyes…!!!

It’s dark and raining outside.  Another log on the fire as the rain continues to fall outside.   It’s cold.  In a few short weeks the weather has turned cold.  The winds from the south pole have decided it’s time to blow in our direction.  There is no real shelter.  It’s cold.  Winter is around the corner  but it’s not time yet…

The cat senses the change of seasons and sits by the window.  Watching…  What is she watching ? …

As time passes it has rained a hundred million times…. I wonder will it rain a hundred million more ?  I don’t know…We are told the earth is near the end…

I continue to listen…  The rain falls on the roof above me.  A gentle humming sound.  There is a rhythm to it, a rhythm that cannot be precisely identified.   As the rain falls  it is filling the rain tanks installed in the many gardens on this dry, cracked landscape.  A land that is drying and cracking under our feet.  I can almost hear it cracking beneath me.  Thank God for the rains filling the water tanks to the brim tonight.  When the sun shines again tomorrow the water will flow from the tank onto the garden.  The rain will be just a memory until it is present again.  Rain is precious.  I love the rain !
