The web is full of cross stitch patterns and charts. Many of these designs are free. There are also some charts for wool and canvas but they are not the norm the majority of charts are for traditional cross stitch.
I am currently working on a few designs for cushions with wool and canvas. I want to make sure that the design I come up with has not been done before so I have spent quite a few hours searching through hundreds of websites with cross stitch charts and designs. It’s funny but there are very very few designs that would actually inspire me to buy them.
The kits produced by Ehrman are sensational and they produce the most gorgeous and wonderful kits by amazing designers. One of my favourite designers is Raymond Honeyman check his work out at www.Ehrmantapestry.com. I love his designs they are gorgeous.

The only slight disadvantage with the Ehrman kits is that they are quiet expensive.
Another designer I have stumbled upon recently who I also think is fabulous is Emily Peacock from the UK. Her kits are gorgeous and she is obviously very talented.

She sells her stuff on Etsy. You might ask why I am profiling people who design exactly the same type of thing that I want to do. The reason is simple, I believe there is enough in the universe for everyone to share in and I really admire these two designers. Why not talk about them ?
There are also hundreds of sites offering various assortment of cross stitch designs which are often too traditional for my liking or have been done to death in so many ways before. I keep searching for that elusive design, something fresh and intersting.
I will keep searching and working on my designs. I know one day I will create something really original which might be in the same league as Emily and Raymond Honeyman.
Happy Threading !
