Sunday Daffodil

Sunday Daffodil

26 July 2009

It’s Sunday…. This morning I took out my camera and with the macro lens took the above shot of some daffodils growing in a pot in my garden.  I love daffodils they are bright and full of life.

Today I finished stitching the tea pot fridge magnet.   The tea pot chart can be downloaded for free from the free charts page on my blog.  Just click on the image to download.

Instructions

To stitch the fridge magnet use plastic canvas.  Plastic canvas is fantastic for giving you a nice square edge for fridge magnets or brooches etc.  You can buy the plastic canvas from your local craft shop.

Use six threads of cotton to cover the entire plastic canvas.

Stitch following above chart with the above colours.

Once the chart is stitched cut a piece of cotton  fabric a little bigger than the finished stitched design.  Fold the fabric as below and use the iron to press it.  It will take a little adjustment to get the backing to fit the back of the stitched design exactly.

Once the sides are folded place the backing to the stitched design.  Stitch the two pieces together with a fine needle and cotton making sure to use very small stitches.

The stitches should look something like the stitches below;

Once the design is stitched glue a magnetic strip to the back with craft glue.  You can purchase a magnet from a craft shop.  Once the glue dries the fridge magnet is ready !

I hope you enjoy making the fridge magnet as much as I did.

Have a fabulous week and Happy Threading !
