Apples and the Worm

7 September 2009

The weekend is over yet again. As usual it passed very quickly but as I head into the office I know I have only four days of work as we go on holidays on Friday at the end of this week.  I am so looking forward to getting away with my boys for a week.

The picture of the little cat comes from a book called “Parlor Cats” by Cynthia Hart I found as I was sorting out some old boxes I had.  There are lots of wonderful pictures of cats in this book.  Here is another one.

Today’s chart is inspired by my love of Apples, needlepoint and worms popping out of Apples.  The worm’s name is “Henry” and he features in a number of Happy Threads designs.  This chart would be ideal to stitch and hang in a child’s room.  The chart will soon be available exclusively through the Happy Threads Store.

I have always loved pictures of apples and I thought I would create a fun chart to stitch with wool and canvas.

Thought for the day is a little poem from the book of Parlour Cats by Edward Lear;

“C was Papa’s grey Cat.

Who caught a squeaky

Mouse;

She pulled him by this

twirly tail

All about the house”

Happy Stitching!

    We have a Shih Tzu who once caught a mouse. Ugh. The chart is cute — I like the little worm coming out. Thanks for all the freebies!

    Hi Patty

    Thank you for taking the time to comment. I am glad you like the charts and the little worm. Hope you enjoy stitching it too if you have some time. Stitching is fun but it just takes some time ! Enjoy and all the best.
