Abstract Easter Egg Needlepoint

25 March 2010

Are we nearly through another month ?  I noticed the year is passing by by watching my eldest son grow.  He is going through puberty and is growing daily.  He is already much taller than I am and still growing.

I love Easter Eggs and wanted to design a chart I could stitch as a needlepoint.  This chart was free for a limited time and will now be sold through the Happy Threads Store in early 2012.  Featuring gorgeous multi colored  Easter Eggs in a basket this chart is sure to delight the intermediate to advanced stitcher.  I am currently working on simplifying the design as the original chart had more than 50 colors.  The challenge from a design perspective is to reduce the number of colors without taking away from the depth and beauty of the chart.  The design would look so beautiful as a cushion top or a book cover.

Thought for the day is Friendship needs no words” by Dag Hammarskjold.  Enjoy and have a great day !

Thanks once again for a pretty needlepoint, as of yet I have not started one, like all things to many ‘irons’ in the fire. lol. Like a squirrel storing up for further “rainy days”.

Thanks Barbara for your comment and I agree there never seems to be enough time to stitch the needlepoints or the cross stitch designs. One day maybe …
    Have a great day

Charlie, I just printed your abstract egg design. This is the type of cross stitch (experimental) that I like a lot. I will not attempt to stitch it before I retire with those 50+ colours, but I shall put the picture of it on my desk and admire it. Very, very beautiful.
    Best regards, Hannelore

Thanks very much Hannelore for your lovely comment. I will keep designing the experimental charts as they so creative and more organic than the traditional designs. Have a wonderful day.
