Sunday 28 March 2010
Another Sunday arrives quietly this week. It’s colder outside and the football season has started for the boys. Easter is just around the corner.
I took the photo of the little white rabbit this morning. He is so cute and is actually a Easter present for my youngest son. When you wind it up it moves backwards and forwards – very cute !
I have been experimenting this morning and created a mosaic rabbit to cross stitch from a painting I created earlier in the day. It’s more an experiment but I liked the results and thought I would share it with you. You could chose to stitch the entire design but it will take you quite some time as a cross stitch. I should perhaps create the design as a needlepoint which might be easier. Perhaps later this week if I have some time.
Here is the painting I created (electronically using an application called coral paint. I used it with my new Bamboo Wacom drawing tablet). It was alot of fun but I need to practise a little more.

I used the image to create the cross stitch chart and also applied a mosaic effect to the design which resulted in the chart below. Sometimes charts don’t always translate exactly from a painting or drawing I create. It depends on the complexity of the design and the colors involved.
Overall the effect is interesting but will take a long time to stitch. It will be released shortly in the meantime enjoy your Sunday !
