Abstract red rose petal needlepoint

My love of flowers is a constant inspiration in the design work I create.  The textures and colors of flowers provide a hundred different possibilities for beautiful designs.

I used the macro photo I took of the red rose shown above and translated it into a needlepoint design.  The effect is pretty amazing.  I put the four images of the petals together to create the design.  This chart has been very challenging because of the number of colors the design requires.  I am working on the design at present to see if I can simplify it a little without losing the effect of the overall design.

The chart will be available exclusively through the Happy Threads Store at some stage during 2012.  I would like to stitch the chart myself before releasing it for sale to make sure the final result will be as good as you see on the simulated image of the chart below.
