Needlepoint barn

Lonely tree

Lonely tree

Thursday 27 May 2010

It is getting much colder by the day here and darker earlier and earlier each night.  Time to sit in front on the fire with lamb for dinner.

I have been reflecting further on my weekend away last week.  I liked the photo of the lonely tree on the hill that I took on the Sunday morning.  Peaceful and quiet.

In keeping with the country theme I have designed a very simple needlepoint featuring a barn.  A lonely barn in the middle of a field.  The barn is in the American style of barns as they are slightly easier to design.  The field grass is growing high enough to reach under the barn windows.

I plan to stitch this into a cushion top.

Originally released as a free chart this design will soon appear in the Happy Threads Shop.  Make sure to keep an eye out for it.

A few posts ago I also told you I would profile another Etsy shop that I liked.  You may already know them but if not they design baby clothing and accessories but also design a few cross stitch designs I really like.  The shop is called tinymodernist.  Here are some of their fabulous, innovative and totally original cross stitch designs I love;

Most of the cross stitch charts are of chairs, buildings and even telephones.  They are such a nice change from the very traditional designs typically used for cross stitch designs.

That’s it for today.  Enjoy your day and evening.
