I can now understand what what it must be like for a reporter to come up with a new angle or new story every day.  I started thinking about my post today and I could not think of very much at all to tell you. Most of the ideas that popped into my head were just about my life and the things I had done last week and today.  Quite frankly my life and what I did last week is really not that interesting… trust me !

Perhaps I could share with you a book I am reading at the moment called “Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff… and its all small stuff” by Richard Carlson.  Unfortunately Richard died in 2006 on the a flight from San Franciso to New York.  He was only 45 years old.

I am really enjoying his book.  I am reading a chapter headed “Do Something Nice for Someone Else – and Don’t Tell Anyone About it”.  Richard says;

“It’s really true that one should give for the sake of giving not to receive something in return.  This is precisely what you are doing when you don’t mention your kindness to others – your rewards are the warm feelings that come from the act of giving.  The next time you do something really nice for someone else, keep it to yourself and revel in the abundant joy of giving”.
