Blue Bird to cross stitch

It’s a long weekend and I have spent most of today catching up on some much needed rest.  I also got out my paints and paintbrush and quickly painted a few painting which I will use as the inspiration for cross stitch and needlepoint charts over the next few weeks.

I translated my painting into a simple cross stitch chart.  This design was originally released as a free chart but has now been withdrawn and has now been withdrawn from the Happy Threads collection.

When designing charts I am inspired by so many wonderful animals and plants around me.  Sometimes the designs that I have in my head translate into a beautiful chart and sometimes, like this chart, it is more a designing experiment.  I like the design journey.  Sometimes it works sometimes it’s part of the journey.

Tomorrow a few more paintings and chores for rest of day.  I am still planning to finish off the shoe bag using the shoes cross stitch a few blogs ago.
