Carnations

Carnations

Monday 14 June 2010

Do you remember when Carnations were in fashion ?  As a child I remember my mother buying carnations and I remember the blood red carnations in one of my favorite movies “Manon des Sources”

In this extract of the movie you can clearly see the fields or red carnations.  If you have never watched this movie you might like to watch it.  It is in French but it does come with English sub-titles.  I am sure you will love it as much as I did when I first saw it.  ”Manon des Sources” is the sequel to “Jean de Florette” so you might want to start off watching the movies in order as it will make more sense.

Today’s free chart is a button cross stitch bookmark.  It is a project suitable for beginners and is quick and very colorful.

I love carnations! Last night I was watching Kathy Griffin’s show and she went to visit Liza Minelli and brought her a bunch of carnations. Apparently, they’re Liza’s favorite flower. Who knew? :)

    Hi Patty
Yes it seems that carnations are now coming back into fashion. It’s funny everything old becomes new again !
